Clinical Rotations

The UM / JMH Cardiovascular fellowship training program clinical rotations are based at our 3 training sites:

  • Jackson Memorial Hospital 
  • University of Miami Hospital 
  • Miami Veterans Administration Hospital

Over the course of the 3 year clinical fellowship, our fellows rotate through at least 24 months of clinical training.  This includes 9-12 months of clinical cardiology rotations including CCU, cardiac consultation, electrophysiology, and heart failure / cardiac transplantation services.  Additional time in spent in the various other subspecialties, including 4 month of echocardiography, stress testing / nuclear cardiology, and cardiac cath lab experience.  They spend an additional 6-12 months of elective time which is concentrated in the third year.   

At Jackson Memorial Hospital the clinical rotations include:

  • CCU rotation
  • Cardiology Consult Service
  • Heart failure & Transplant service
  • Echocardiography lab
  • Cardiac catheterization lab
  • Electrophysiology service
  • CT/MRI Advanced imaging

At the University of Miami the fellows rotate through:

  • CCU rotation
  • Cardiology Consult Service
  • Nuclear cardiology rotation
  • Echocardiography lab
  • Cardiac catheterization lab
  • Electrophysiology service

At the Miami VA Hospital our fellows spend time in:

  • CCU / Consult Service
  • Stress testing & Nuclear cardiology
  • Echocardiography lab
  • Cardiac catheterization lab
